7 month update

Abigail Lynn
Weight: 18.6

Harper Grace
Weight: 18.2

It happened!! For the first time ever Abbey weighs more than Harper!

What the twins are wearing
The girls can squeeze into 6 month onsies but pretty much only wear 9 month clothes now. And their chubby chubby legs barely fit into 9 month rompers, which I am realizing I almost always dress them in rompers I just think they are the most adorable things ever.

Eating
A day in the life of my twins eating schedule looks like this.
7am wake up and nurse
9:30 nurse before take nap
11 usually mashed banana for lunch
1:30 nurse before nap
3:30 nurse
5:30 purée for dinner (favs are carrot, peas, sweet potato, apple)
6:15 nurse before bed
Anywhere between 2am-4am they each will wake up once to eat.

Sleeping
The babies are still doing the same with sleeping, going down around 6 waking up usually once and then sleeping til about 7am. About 50% of the time Abs will sleep straight from 6pm til 7am and the other 50% of the time she will wake once during the night to eat. Their bedtime routine looks like this.
5:30ish eat purée for dinner
5:45ish baths in the sink
6:00ish get lotioned and jammies and daddy reads them a bible story
6:15ish nurse
6:30ish put in cribs turn on sound machine and sleep 20140606-121830-44310025.jpg

Favorites
Now they are getting older they have different favorites. Well some things they both love and in some ways they are starting to differ. I have always predicted Abbey would talk first and Harps would walk first which I’m realizing is probably going to be true. Abbey loves to talk. She will say dada, mama, nana (we call my mom Nana) I don’t know if she connects what she is saying to the person she is saying but I think she might. When I went in their room to get them from the crib yesterday I opened the door and Abbey looked at me and said “Mamamama” oh my goodness my heart was in a puddle on the floor. Harpers favorite this is crawling, she does this hilarious half army crawl half real crawl, where she’ll crawl once normal and then belly flop and crawl once army crawl and keep going back and forth. She also loves attention, I mean both of them love when people stop and talk to them but Harper is a major ham, instant huge smile and everything. Abbey will first stare and try to figure you out and think about it for a minute and then decide to smile. Another favorite they share is excersuacers. Having twins is crazy expensive so I wasn’t going to go and spend $100 bucks each on excersuacer but we have been truly blessed by amazing friends who have let us borrow theirs.

We took them swimming for the first time this month and they absolutely loved it! They are major water babies. Here’s a few pictures of us swimming.

Accomplishments
Well the talking and crawling I mentioned above are probably the biggest accomplishments this month. They both still only have the two teeth but I feel like they have atleast two more that have been trying to break through for ever!! Oh and they pretty much can totally sit up on their own. They are at the age where I can lay them on the ground with a few toys and they will play for about 15 minutes so I can fold laundry or clean kitchen, which is so awesome!

Challenges
I have been incredibly blessed to have my mom come and help me, but I guess the challenge would be that for the last couple months now she is coming for just a few hours once a week or so. Which is still an amazing blessing and is actually really great because I am feeling more confident in taking care of the babies by myself for the 24hour shifts that my husband works. Some days are great and I feel like I rule the world because I can take them to the store and get some cleaning done all by myself but then some days both babies want all my attention and it’s not possible to satisfy both of them and it’s really hard. But I like trying to handle everything on my own and I think it’s getting easier the more I do it.

My Favorite
I think the challenge and my favorite thing this month are the same. There is something very empowering and encouraging knowing that God has given me exactly what I need in order to be enough for my children. Joyce Meyer says, “you’ve been divinely equipped to overcome any kind of trouble. It means you can face life with boldness and say, “Nothing in life can defeat me because the Greater One lives in me. He’s provided me with everything I need to handle what He has called me to do.” My other favorite from this month is that we went on our first family trip. Which I put a post about a few weeks ago.
